START, is a theoretical program that aims to encourage students to nurture their creativity and expose viable career paths in various creative fields for young students. Students can START with Art and end with a career plan. The campaign utilizes a fun visual language that features hand-drawn shapes and lines with heavy movement to engage the target demographic (middle to early high school students).
START has an outreach program that follows three phases. The first is an advertisement campaign seen above and below. Through a series of posters, each highlighting a different creative field, we catch the attention of students that are already involved in the arts and can recognize the visual language pulled from the individual industries. Each poster leads to an informational website that is seen in Phase Three.
Phase Two, seen below, is an informational zine that highlights a contemporary designer of color in each designated field to provide students with role-models and help them envision themselves in the field. Within each zine is the story of the chosen designer as well as informative copy on various ways to enter the industry. Part three is a website that acts as an informational hub with links to resources and statistical information on various careers.
